Howard Gardner (left) is an American psychologist and the Professor of Cognition and Education at the Harvard Graduate School of Education. He is currently the Senior Director of Harvard Project Zero, an organization that has been studying the development in children and adolescents of cognitive mastery and an ethical orientation.

Katie Davis (right) is an Assistant Professor at the University of Washington Information School, where she studies the role of digital media in the young generation's academic, social, and moral lives. Along with Howard Gardner, she worked as a Project Manager for Harvard Project Zero.

As their incredibly similar interests intertwined when Katie began to work with Howard at Harvard Project Zero, they immediately began a writing project, which eventually became known as The App Generation.
